After Akbar, the town of Agra witnessed tremendous beautification in the reign of Jahangir, who made Persian style palaces and gardens. Later, it was Shahjahan, who made Taj Mahal in the memory of his beloved Mumtaz Mahal. He was dethroned and imprisoned in Agra Fort by his son Aurangzeb.
